The
Philippine Eagle is perhaps one of the most beautiful of all the
fauna species in the rich Philippine tropical rainforest and thanks
to the irresponsible logging, the very home of these birds are in
danger of being lost forever and the birds themselves exterminated
completely.
Conservation
efforts are being made to save this species and during one of Steve's
visit to the city of Davao, on the island of Mindanao where the
Philippine eagle is indigenous, Steve took a snap shot of one of
the captured eagles for posterity.
Efforts to re-populate
the forests surrounding Davao proved to be marginally successful
with the efforts of captive breeding but the dangers of forever
losing the Philippine eagle is still a clear and present danger
unless more efforts and funding are extended to achieve a positive
conclusion.
